Progress announced the latest release of Progress OpenEdge, the company's flagship application development platform.

Built for speed, the 12.0 release, available today, can deliver up to a three-fold improvement in database throughput performance, and unprecedented responsiveness and scalability.

With the delivery in OpenEdge 12 of multi-threading, server-side multi-table JOINs, and locking delay improvements, companies can not only expect up to 200% throughput of data, but also improvements in overall application performance, reduction in catastrophic outage data loss to sub-second levels, more efficient SQL query resolution and more.

- Agile DevOps: OpenEdge 12 helps organizations grow their DevOps team into a streamlined, agile unit. New features include Docker containerization deployment for Progress® Application Server (PAS) for OpenEdge® platform, which allows developers to increase deployment efficiency, make frequent updates and improvements, and maintain higher availability of applications while improving resource utilization. Access to source code analysis tooling and improvements to the performance Profiler help produce a more robust, stable and consistent codebase for easier collaborative development.
